MUSEUM OF HISTORY
Each month, the Amelia Island Museum of History offers a presentation on the third Friday of the month. The presentations are on a variety of different topics, but each relate to the history of the island. The event takes place at 5:30 p.m. at Baker Hall in the museum.
For non-members, admission is $5.

Fort Clinch Re-enactments
Living historians recreate life at Fort Clinch during the War Between the States.  Activities may include black powder artillery demonstrations and marching drills, as well as soldiers and civilians taking up duty in the laundry, infirmary, and kitchen.

One of the nation's most innovative vintage auto events, The Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance features more than 250 rare classics from seldom-seen private collections nationwide. The prestigious event will be held for the 14th consecutive year on Amelia Island. The event is held at the Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island and The Golf Club of Amelia Island at Summer Beach, adjacent to the hotel.

ISLE OF EIGHT FLAGS SHRIMP FESTIVAL

Held in Fernandina Beach on Amelia Island, the 46th Annual Isle of Eight Flags Shrimp Festival will feature an array of activities for adults and children. The Shrimp Festival will dish out boatloads of fresh seafood and shrimp dishes, as local volunteer organizations prepare and serve an astounding assortment of menu items, including shrimp pie, shrimp twisters, crawfish, and shrimp ice cream. The Fine Arts and Crafts show will feature works from more than 300 award-winning artists and craftspeople. Families will enjoy the “Little Pirate” costume contest, pre-festival Pirate Parade, and the Family Fun Zone.

 Wild Amelia Nature Festival
The Wild Amelia Nature Festival invites residents and visitors to experience the wild side of Amelia Island. With more than 25 seminars and experiences, the three-day festival offers something for everyone. Opportunities include a Segway tour of Ft. George Island, kayaking the marshes along Ft. Clinch State Park, and exploration of bird habitats by bike. The Festival also offers programs designed specifically for children, such as Nature Photography for Kids.

Amelia Island Chamber Music Festival
The nationally-renowned Amelia Island Chamber Music Festival will showcase world-class artists performing classical music to diverse audiences in intimate and historic settings on Amelia Island. The Festival is held at various venues throughout the Island and Fernandina Beach and dedicated to bringing classical music at the highest level to the general public, schools and senior centers.   Each year, between 50 and 60 internationally acclaimed artists visit Amelia Island to perform and participate in 20 different events

Nassau Sport Fishing Association Tournament
The Nassau Sport Fishing Association’s (NSFA) Tournament of Champions is one of the largest events on the Southern Kingfish Association tournament trail, annually attracting the world’s best kingfish anglers to Amelia Island in the northeastern tip of Florida. The three-day event includes a Saturday fish fry, award ceremony and other festivities.

 Pajama Party
Snuggling into the holiday shopping season in historic downtown Fernandina Beach, the Annual Pajama Party Sale & Contest kicks off on Centre Street.  Held the Friday after Thanksgiving, the Pajama Party Sale gives shoppers plenty of time to slip into their footed pajamas, bunny slippers, and other assorted sleepwear.  Pajama clad shoppers enjoy special deals and discounts, along with fresh juice, coffee and pastries to fuel their shopping spirit.  Shoppers entering the contest are eligible for “Best Dressed Individual Shopper in Pajamas” and “Best Dressed Shopping Group in Pajamas.”

The City of Fernandina Beach and Historic Fernandina Business Association will host the official City of Fernandina Beach Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony on Saturday, November 28, 2009.   Held in front of the old train depot at the foot of Centre Street, Santa and Mrs. Claus will be available to take pictures with the kids of the community.
